LSES and USEK Sign a Memorandum of Understanding to Support Students in Renewable Energy

As part of its ongoing efforts to contribute to the integration of Lebanese university students into the labor market, particularly in the fields of solar and renewable energy, the Lebanese Solar Energy Society (LSES) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Holy Spirit University of Kaslik (USEK).

The MoU was signed during an event held at the university campus, which also included a visit to the Center for the Restoration of Ancient Religious Manuscripts.

On behalf of LSES, the MoU was signed by its President, Eng. Walid El Baba, in the presence of Secretary General Eng. Youssef Ghantous. Representing USEK, it was signed by the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Dr. Joseph Assad, in the presence of Dr. Bechara Nehme, Head of the Electrical Engineering Department.

The Memorandum of Understanding establishes a framework for cooperation between LSES and USEK in several areas, including the exchange of expertise and knowledge, as well as supporting qualified students in gaining practical experience and professional opportunities in the renewable energy sector.

Under the agreement, LSES will support qualified USEK students in participating in training courses organized by the Society and, where possible, facilitate employment opportunities for students within companies affiliated with LSES.

The agreement also provides for LSES to support, as mutually agreed, relevant solar energy projects undertaken by USEK students. In addition, LSES may, with the University's approval, delegate its members and engineers to deliver lectures and technical sessions on solar and renewable energy in response to USEK's needs and requests.

Both parties also agreed to promote and communicate each other's activities through their respective websites and social media platforms, excluding activities of a purely promotional or advertising nature.

Through this partnership, LSES and USEK aim to strengthen cooperation between academia and the renewable energy sector, provide students with greater opportunities for learning and professional development, and contribute to preparing the next generation of renewable energy professionals in Lebanon.
